How we are going to build a sanctuary from scratch

Phase 1: - COMPLETE
Create a buisness plan

While this is not a "business", a detailed plan on what we will need, how we will operate, costs of supplies, finding volunteers, etc. must all be calculated first in order to be able to move forward with the certainty that this sanctuary will be a total and wonderful success.

Phase 2: IN PROGRESS
Fundraising

This is where you come in! We could not do this without you! Once the budget is established, we will begin raising funds to:
  • Grade the pasture forproper drainage Complete
  • Build the barn pad above grade Complete
  • Mulch upper fenceline for optimum shade and browsing Complete
  • Dig drainage ditch and build berm for culvert runoff Complete
  • Put up a secondary fence around the goat pasture - currently fundraising for this click here to sponsor a fence post! In Progress
  • Build/buy the quarantine barn
  • Build/buy the food shed
  • Build the main barn
  • Funds to supply the barn (hoof trimmers, buckets, hay baskets, first aid, etc.)
  • Funds for our residents' initial vet visit
  • Funds to purchase 6 months worth of food- this will ensure that we always have extra money set aside for hay and supplements for our residents
  • Emergency vet fund- this will be untouched and will remain in the bank in case of an emergency

Rescue!

This is the fun part- once we have the appropriate amount of funding, we will begin by rescuing goats from abuse, neglect and slaughter!

Phase 4
Maintenance

This will be an ongoing effort to help with the costs of upkeep, food, vet visits, grooming, supplies and anything our beloved babies will need on a monthly basis. You will even have the opportunity to sponsor a resident!
