Why is it called "Vincent's Place"?
On January 2nd 2019- our founder, while dropping off a food donation to a local farm animal sanctuary, met a 3 week old baby goat named Vincent Van Goat who had been saved from slaughter. She immediately fell in love and became a regular volunteer at the sanctuary at which he lived. She helped bottle feed him and helped raise him for one year. Because he didn’t have any other goat babies or a goat mommy goat to bond with- they bonded. She was his mommy, he was her baby boy. He brought her more joy and healing than can be verbalized. The bond between them was - IS- indescribable other than to call it endless unconditional love 💕
At the time that she met him, she was recovering from a total hysterectomy due to endometriosis and adenomyosis. She called him “my kid that’s a kid “. She found over the year that they were together that their relationship was more than just cuteness, cuddles, kisses and laughter- it was healing. Our founder is disabled with several chronic illnesses that cause constant pain; she found that when she was with him- she actually FELT BETTER. She was able to do more, she could forget her pain, she smiled with her whole heart and she experienced first hand the power of animal therapy. It was amazing!
Her love for Vincent is endless and unwavering. She tried to adopt this sweet baby boy, but the sanctuary feels that letting him live anywhere other than that sanctuary would go against their mission statement. She does miss him terribly- but her love for him is the fuel and inspiration for the creation of this safe haven. Because of their beautiful relationship, Vincent's Place will be a place of healing for both goats and humans alike!

The adorable love goat in all videos and photographs currently on our site is Vincent Van Goat, our namesake. While Vincent does not live here with us, his love and our bond are the inspiration for the creation of Vincent's Place!
